Permanent links/permalinks are stable, permanent hyperlinks.

Permanent links are located in different areas, depending on which database you're using. This FAQ will go through finding the permalinks in several different databases and using OneSearch. one search

Databases may also use different terms for permalinks. Some of these terms are:

  • Persistent link
  • Bookmark
  • Direct Link
  • Share
  • Stable URL

If you can't find any of these terms or are unsure about which link/URL to use, please ask a librarian!

Several databases, such as the ProQuest databases, ScienceDirect, and Wiley Online Library, do not provide permalinks.
